By: Michael Klein
Matt and Bryan Quigley of Federal Distilling in Kensington have opened a tasting room next to the distillery, at 1700 N. Hancock St., three days a week.Federal Distilling Room – as it’s catchily named – offers Stateside Urbancraft vodka tastings, a cocktail menu, a small food menu, and tours. It’s also open for private events.
Since its launch last December, Stateside vodka is now sold in more than 166 stores in Pennsylvania and is poured at 300-plus bars and restaurants in the area. It also was the exclusive vodka of the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
FDR’s hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday.
The Quigley’s started distilling in their parents’ basement in Fort Washington.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia Distilling’s new facility, which will include a restaurant, is well under construction next to the Fillmore in Fishtown.
